PURPOSE: A multimedia message service providing method and apparatus thereof are provided to transmit multimedia messages through a P2P(Peer to Peer) method by utilizing applications of a smart terminal. CONSTITUTION: A call control unit controls the connection of voice or video communication by using an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol). A user registration unit registers users for a service providing apparatus(100). An address book acquisition unit receives user address information from the service providing apparatus. A message transmission unit transmits multimedia messages to one or more reception terminals searched from the user address information.
