<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet capable of enhancing contrast of a video image, and maintaining image clearness while suppressing occurrence of moire and Newton rings. <P>SOLUTION: The optical sheet is arranged between a video light source and a front plate of a video display device, and controls incident light from the video light source to emit it to an observer side. The optical sheet includes: a base material layer; a first optical function layer arranged above the base material layer, and including a plurality of light transmission sections arranged in parallel along the sheet surface, and a plurality of light absorbing sections arranged in parallel between the light transmission sections; and a second optical function layer which includes prisms or lenticular lenses.
