<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for HSDPA link adaptation. <P>SOLUTION: A method of high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) link adaptation comprises receiving, by a Node B, a channel quality measurement metric over an information element (IE) of Measured Results on a random access channel (RACH). The link is adapted on the basis of the received channel quality metric.
