<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the inside of an apparatus body can be easy to confirm and an occurrence place of paper jamming can be easy to find out. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: a side cover 201 provided on a side part of an apparatus body so as to be freely opened/closed; a fixing part 80, provided at a position proximate to the side cover 201 inside the apparatus body, for fixing an image on a paper sheet P transported in the bottom-to-top direction of the apparatus body; and a document placing table 130, provided on an upper part of the apparatus body, on which a document is placed. There is provided a cutout 130K which is formed such that a portion facing an upper part of the side cover 201 in the document placing table 130 is cut out inside.
