<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system and a method for controlling the same which can surely and easily correct distortion of an image due to unevenness of a projection surface. <P>SOLUTION: In an image display system 100, an image correction section 25 processes image information based on an LUT 25a even when there exists unevenness on a projection surface S, and thereby can correct distortion of an image due to the unevenness. In addition, the image display system 100 can generate the LUT 25a according to the uneven state of the projection surface S so as to achieve appropriate correction according to the projection surface S. Specifically, the image display system 100 irradiates a projection region of the projection surface S with illumination light of an illumination device 3 obliquely from outside of the projection region to form a shadow according to the unevenness on the projection surface S, detects the unevenness of the projection surface S by imaging the projection surface S in this state with an imaging apparatus 2, and generates the LUT 25a for correcting the distortion due to the unevenness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
