<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can eliminate the problem that when the reproduction of video content recorded in recording media is started, volume is too high or too low. <P>SOLUTION: When a reproduction operation for a DVD medium M is received, control means 20 reads sound information from the DV medium M for a predetermined length of time.
