PURPOSE: A device, a component, and a method for sensing the state of a bottom thread of a sewing machine are provided to save cost and to improve productivity without idle stitching. CONSTITUTION: A device for sensing the state of a bottom thread comprises: a light control plate(110), a light receiving device(151), and a control alarm device(150). The light control plate comprises one or more light control devices. The light receiving device receives light transferred to the outside by the light control plate and outputs a sensed signal. The control alarm device determines cutting state and reaching state of the bottom thread when normal rotation is not sensed.
