The device has shells (3, 13), where each shell partially surrounds a to-be-protected element (1) and is crossed by a conduit. An insulating material layer is placed inside the shells. An intumescent material is placed inside the shell. Each of the shells includes radial partial shells (3a, 3b, 13a, 13-b) separated by longitudinal junctions (14, 17). Another intumescent material (4f) is placed at the junction between the radial partial shells. The shell includes longitudinal partial shells separated by a transverse junction.
