PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing a medial image of a medical image standard are provided to obtain image data from an image server by using a DICOM(Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) Q/R(Query/Retrieve) function. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(11) controls the data transmission and reception of a medical device which is suitable for a DICOM standard. An environment setting unit(12) sets an environment of a medical image processing unit. A list display screen processing unit(13) processes a list display screen about a medical image. A search screen processing unit(14) processes a search screen about the medical image. An extraction condition change processing unit(15) changes an extraction condition of the medical image. An image display processing unit(16) outputs the medical image.
