PURPOSE: A power management method making long life battery power and a device thereof are provided to manage battery use time of an image display device by using a control signal of a switch blocking the output of a solar cell. CONSTITUTION: Power generated in a solar cell(15) operates a power switch to put the output of a battery(10) in a DC/DC Converter(17). The DC/DC Converter supplies power to a main signal processing unit and a main processor(20) is turned on by receiving the power and outputs a signal S(18). The signal S operates the power switch and continuously supplies battery power to the DC/DC converter. The solar cell performs a role of a starting point supplying power to the main signal processing unit and the main processor manages the power. The main processor completes signal processing and controls the power switch to stop the operation by changing a value of the signal S so that the output of the DC/DC converter disappears and the main signal processing unit does not consume power any more.
