<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of a substrate working machine. <P>SOLUTION: A substrate working machine comprises a slide 128, a slide moving device for moving the slide along a guide, and a mounting head 21 detachably mounted to the slide. One mounting head arbitrarily selected from plural mounting heads with different kinds is made mountable as a mounting head, and is made exchangeable with any other mounting heads. The substrate working machine comprises a support part 338 provided to the slide and supporting the mounting head, and a head fixing device 342 for fixing the mounting head supported by the support part. The mounting head is fixed or unfixed with the head fixing device by an operator's operation of an operation member.
