<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve versatility of a substrate working machine. <P>SOLUTION: In this substrate working machine, one mounting head arbitrarily selected from plural mounting heads with different kinds is made mountable as a working head for performing a substrate operation, and is made exchangeable with any other mounting heads, so as to recognize the kind of the mounting head that has been mounted.
