<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element having high conversion efficiency by using inexpensive dye; and to provide a solar cell using the dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element comprises substrates 1, 1', transparent conductive membranes 2, 7, an oxide semiconductor 3, dye 4, an electrolyte 5, a partition 9, and the like. A counter electrode 6 comprises the substrate 1', the transparent conductive membrane 7, and platinum 8. The dye 4 comprises two kinds of dye having specified structure.
