<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: granular patterns collapse in reduction in image data, where the granular patterns are superposed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processing unit adds a prescribed granular pattern to the image data. An enlargement-reduction section 118 generates reduced image data having a smaller number of pixels than that of the image data.
