<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently read a plurality of wireless tags. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of antennas 1-4 which reads a wireless tag is operated with an equal time division to perform the reading of wireless tag, and a ratio of time division to operate each antenna is calculated according to the number of wireless tags with which each antenna has been communicable. The ratio of time division to operate each antenna is stored in association with a type of object to which the wireless tag is attached. When reading a wireless tag attached to an object of the same type thereafter, the wireless tag is read using the ratio of time division to operate each antenna associated therewith.
