<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery having a built-in discharge circuit automatically adjusting capacity balance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the bipolar battery formed by alternately laminating a plurality of bipolar electrodes in which a positive electrode layer is formed on one surface of a current collector and a negative electrode layer on the other surface and an electrolyte layer conducting ion exchange between the bipolar electrodes, the discharge circuit electrically connecting the adjacent bipolar electrodes is formed on the same plane in at least one layer out of the positive electrode layer, the negative electrode layer, and the electrolyte layer.
