<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone type filtering device enabling easy backwash operation for a filter, and consequently allowing repeated use of the filter. <P>SOLUTION: In the cyclone type filtering device, the inside of a casing is vertically partitioned by a partition plate, and a liquid filtering chamber for introducing discharged water is formed on the lower side in the casing. Moreover, a backwash water storage chamber for storing treated water after filtration, and then passing it is formed on the upper side in the casing. In the partition plate, a communication port making the backwash water storage chamber and the liquid filtering chamber communicated is arranged. The filter is protruded to the liquid filtering chamber from the communication port of the partition plate. The filter has a bottom plate in a lower end of a cylindrical filter peripheral wall part. On the outer peripheral surface of the filter peripheral wall part, a slit making the inside and the outside communicated is arranged. The slit is formed into a coil shape throughout the whole length of the cylindrical shape, or a plurality of slits are formed annularly throughout the whole length of the cylindrical shape at intervals.
