PURPOSE: A system and method for monitoring an HMI(Human Machine Interface) system using a mobile device are provided to remotely monitor and control a plurality of monitoring control systems by constructing a smart gateway with HMI software in the HMI system. CONSTITUTION: A system for monitoring an HMI system includes an integrated HMI system and a mobile control system. The mobile control system includes a smart gateway(101) and a mobile device(102,103). The smart gateway includes software to remotely access and control each unit monitoring control system(20,21,22) and the integrated HMI system. The mobile device is connected to the smart gateway through wireless or wired internet or a mobile communication network to monitor the integrated HMI system and each unit monitoring control system and remotely controls each field device connected through each unit monitoring control system.
