<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device capable of displaying an icon obtained from a portable information terminal without discomfort and with improved appearance. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic device, when being connected with the portable information terminal, can perform remote control operation of the portable information terminal to obtain image data 10 of an icon from the portable information terminal. The electronic device determines whether or not it is possible to perform transmission processing of the image data 10 of the icon. When determining that it is not possible to perform the transmission processing of the image data 10 of the icon, the electronic device combines a pedestal 400 with the image data 10 of the icon to display it so as to form a frame 410 of the pedestal 400.
