<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect density of a toner pattern formed on an image carrier with high accuracy at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: a transfer roller 5 arranged in contact with a photoreceptor to transfer a toner image on the photoreceptor onto a recording medium; and a density sensor 8 arranged on the downstream of the transfer roller. A toner pattern 9 is formed on the photoreceptor. The density sensor detects the density of the toner pattern to control toner image formation conditions. A voltage having the same polarity as toner is applied to the transfer roller so that the toner 10 deposited on the transfer roller from the toner pattern when the transfer roller passes is deposited again on the photoreceptor when the transfer roller rotates to come in contact with the photoreceptor again. The density of the toner 11 deposited again from the transfer roller is detected by the density sensor, to correct the density of the toner pattern on the basis of the detected density of the toner deposited again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
