<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which causes no indentation on a developing roller even if the operation of the developing device is stopped for a long time (for example, a few days) in a constitution in which a thin layer of a developer having a desired layer thickness is formed on the peripheral surface of the developing roller by regulating the layer thickness of the developer supplied on the peripheral surface of the developing roller. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a developing device which comprises: a developer carrier 100 for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier 10 with a developer; layer thickness regulating means 300 by which a developer supplied from supply means 200 to the developer carrier 100 is regulated to have a constant layer thickness; and a contacting/separating mechanism 400 for contacting/separating the layer thickness regulating means 300 and the developer carrier 100, wherein the developer carrier 100, the supply means 200 and the layer thickness regulating means 300 are disposed in a body, the layer thickness regulating means 300 is supported by an attachment member 600, and the contacting/separating mechanism 400 comprises a cam 410 provided in the supply means 200 and a roller which is provided in the attachment member 600 and comes into contact with the cam 410. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
