<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device capable of suppressing the occurrence of flickers in a projection image even when brightness is rapidly varied. <P>SOLUTION: A projector comprises: a light source lamp 201; liquid crystal panels 212, 214 and 217 for modulating light from the light source lamp 201 on the basis of a video signal, a diaphragm device 205 for adjusting an amount of light toward the liquid crystal panels 212, 214 and 217; and a CPU 407 for controlling the diaphragm device 205 in a predetermined period on the basis of the video signal. The CPU 407 provides an upper limit to a control amount of the diaphragm device 205 in each control timing and controls the diaphragm device 205 with the upper limit served as a control amount in the control timing when the control amount of the diaphragm device 205 based on the video signal exceeds the upper limit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
