<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing trans-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene that can be used as a raw material for a foaming agent for a hard polyurethane foam, a solvent, a washing agent, a coolant, a working fluid, a propellent, a fluororesin and the like. <P>SOLUTION: According to the method, it becomes possible to produce trans-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene with higher selectivity and higher yield compared with those achieved in conventional techniques. The catalyst to be used is very inexpensively produced or available.
