<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection picture display device having an optical modulator with a simpler configuration using a DMD element as an optical modulating element. <P>SOLUTION: The projection picture display device according to the present invention has an optical modulator 30 including a DMD driving circuit substrate 31 equipped with a driving circuit, a DMD electron socket 33, and a DMD element 32 on one surface of the substrate 31 with the socket 33 interposed in between, the DMD element 32 being driven by the driving circuit. Further, on the other surface of the DMD driving circuit substrate 31, a heat sink 35 for allowing heat generated in the DMD element 32 to escape is arranged with an insulating and elastic reinforcing member 34 interposed in between. The members are elastically squeezed. Moreover, a projecting part 35c is formed on the surface of the heat sink 35 near the DMD element so as to go through openings 34a, 31a, and 33a provided at the reinforcing member 34, the DMD driving circuit substrate 31, and the DMD electron socket 33, respectively, and touch the surface of the DMD element 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
