<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unevenness or the like in an image to be formed even if paper powder attaches to the surface of a sheet, or the state of the surface changes in a section with which a sheet feed roller contacts when the sheet is fed from a sheet storage unit by rotating the sheet feed roller that press-contacts with the sheet stored in the sheet storage unit. <P>SOLUTION: In a sheet feed device 30, the sheet feed roller 31 press-contacts with the sheet S stored in a sheet feed cassette 18 and the sheet stored in the sheet storage unit is supplied by rotating the sheet storage.
