PURPOSE: A method for driving a display panel, a method for displaying a three-dimensional image using the same and a display device for performing the same are provided to improve brightness characteristics of a three-dimensional image by driving the display panel. CONSTITUTION: A display device includes a display panel(200), a data driver(220), a timing controller(210) and a light source(300). The data driver outputs a data signal to the display panel. The timing controller divides one frame into a plurality of sub sections, and divides each sub section into a sub active section or a sub blanking section. The timing controller outputs a left-eye data signal or a right-eye data signal corresponding to the display panel to the data driver during the sub active section on the basis of a data enable signal. The light source includes a plurality of light emitting blocks, and provides light to the plurality of display blocks per sub section sequentially.
