<p>Printing cylinder comprises an outer sleeve (8) defining the surface of the cylinder and having a conical interior fitting a complementary cone at the exterior of an inner sleeve (4). A nut at one end of the cylinder shaft is used to urge the outer sleeve against a shoulder at the other end of the shaft. The inner sleeve enters the outer sleeve as the nut is tightened. The inner sleeve is axially slidably keyed to the shaft and is backed by a spring so as to be able to recede if the pressure between the cone surfaces of the two sleeves becomes excessive.</p>
