PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission line including a double clad type multimode fiber capable of achieving a wider band.SOLUTION: A double clad type multimode fiber 2 is configured to be provided with: a core 6; first cladding 7 provided around the core 6; second cladding 8 provided around the first cladding 7; and a jacket 9 provided around the second cladding 8. The double clad type multimode fiber 2 has a fiber structure in which both of the core 6 and the first cladding 7 are made of glass and, on the other hand, the second cladding 8 is made of resin. The double clad type multimode fiber 2 is, even when bending and a lateral pressure are imparted thereto, an optical fiber having a structure capable of radiating a cladding mode for propagating light through the cladding by a second cladding removed portion 5. An optical transmission line 1 includes the optical fiber described above. |
