PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 4-alkylresorcinol derivative which is excellent in water solubility and stability while overcomining defects inherent to 4-alkylresorcinols, is substantially tasteless, odorless, non-irritating, and free from the concern about toxicity, and can exert its physiological activity in a living body satisfactorily.SOLUTION: There is provided the 4-alkylresorcinol glycoside has a glycosyl group bonded to one or both of hydroxyl groups in a 4-alkylresorcinol.
