PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent crack initiation due to thermal expansion without providing any particular processing such as bellows processing, thinning processing and the like on an EGR pipe.SOLUTION: Flanges 5, 8 fixed to an end of an EGR pipe 3 are composed of two rings 10, 11 which are attached firmly and joined inseparably. The flanges 5, 8 have, as a whole, a given thickness in the circumferential direction, while the interface 12 of both the rings 10, 11 is inclined toward a falling direction (direction P) due to the thermal expansion of the EGR pipe 3. That is, the second ring 11 is deformed like a wedge so that the thickness gradually tapers thinly off in the direction P of the EGR pipe 3 falling down. The thermal expansion coefficient of the second ring 11 is greater than the thermal expansion coefficient of the first ring 10. As the second ring 11 undergoes thermal expansion as if to follow the falling down of the EGR pipe 3, so the crack initiation at the end part of the EGR pipe 3 is prevented. |
