PURPOSE: An optical waveguide with an arbitrary micro shape structure is provided to optimize the structure while contributing the simplification of actual production using one medium. CONSTITUTION: An optical waveguide comprises a secondary medium clad domain (3) and a secondary medium core domain (4). The secondary medium clad domain is formed of a core of the center portion and a clad surrounding the core by multiple grids which are adjacent to an axial direction of the optical waveguide. The secondary medium clad domain is formed of a secondary medium having a refractive index which is different a main medium at rectangular one cross section and is arranged along the longitudinal direction. The secondary medium clad domain is formed in the center portion of the multiple grids or one grid or cross points which are adjacent. The secondary medium core domain is formed of a secondary medium and formed and arranged along the longitudinal direction in the center portion of the core.
