PURPOSE: A low floor tram with less catenary is provided to have an ultra-capacitor and a battery enabling to reduce the cost for maintenance and to repair a vehicle by extending the lifetime of a battery by reducing the usage count of the battery using a capacitor together in a vehicle propulsion or in a regenerative braking by mounting a battery and a capacitor in parallel on a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A low floor tram with less catenary having a battery and an ultra-capacitor comprises an inverter(120) which controls the driving of a motor by converting a DC power into an AC power in order to control the motor for driving a vehicle; a battery and an ultra-capacitor(102) which is connected in parallel in order to charge a power source when a power source is provided through a catenary in a catenary section; a first and a second DC/DC converters(106,107) controlling a charge or a discharge of the ultra-capacitor and the battery; and a control unit(104) controlling the first and second DC/DC converter.
