PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for thermoelectric element in which structural defect is minimized while ensuring excellent thermoelectric performance.SOLUTION: The composition for thermoelectric element is a composite oxide containing Ca and Mn and having a perovskite structure, in which the Ca/Mn indicating the molar ratio of Ca and Mn is 1.0002-1.1978. The composition for thermoelectric element has at least one element selected from a group of Y, Nd, Ta, Pr, Sm, La, Yb, Ti, Zn, Mg, Sr, Ba, Sn, Mo, Si, Nb, W, Co, V, Fe, Ni, Na, Al, Cr, Zr, and Cu, and the substitution amount of the element for total 2.0000 mol of Ca and Mn is preferably 0.3 mol or less. |
