PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of paging a group of access terminals in a wireless communications system.SOLUTION: A set of paging indicator (PI) bits within a quick paging channel (QPCH) cycle is configured in order to page a group of access terminals. An access terminal within the group receives the QPCH cycle, and evaluates the PI bits in order to determine whether a unicast page and/or group page is present. A transport-layer message for transmission to at least one access terminal is generated, and an application-layer portion of the transport-layer message is modified, to configure the transport-layer message. An access terminal receives the message and extracts the application-layer portion. |
