PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow initial cash in a currency processing device to be properly set.SOLUTION: A currency processing device (bill teller machine 1A) includes a storage unit (storage cassette 31) which stores therein currency in cash reception processing and delivers stored currency in cash payment processing, and initial cash in the storage unit is preliminarily set. A currency processing method records a history of cash in the storage unit varied in accordance with the execution of cash reception processing or cash payment processing and resets initial cash in the storage unit on the basis of the recorded history and supplies currency to the storage unit or recovers currency in the storage unit at prescribed timing so as to equalize cash in the storage unit to the reset initial cash. |
