PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an oxide layer having a desired fine structure on a surface of a metal material.SOLUTION: This surface treatment method for a metal material includes: a step S1 of immersing a material to be treated, which is composed of a metal material having a surface to be treated and serves as a cathode electrode, and an anode electrode into an electrolytic solution; and a step S2 of forming an oxide layer on the surface to be treated by applying such a voltage between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode that a complete plasma state is formed, and at the same time, the surface to be treated is oxidized and is not melted. By such a surface treatment method for a metal material, it is possible to form an oxide layer having a desired fine structure on the surface of the metal material. |
