The device (D) has a commutation unit (MC2) coupled with a fast charging unit (MR). The commutation unit is arranged to take a first state for prohibiting charging of batteries (B1-BN) by the charging unit, or a second state for allowing circulation of charge current in a supply circuit for charging of the batteries. A control unit (MCT) is arranged to control placement of the commutation unit in one of the two states, and another commutation unit (MC1) in a state imposing circulation of the charge current in the circuit during placement of the former commutation unit in its second state. An independent claim is also included for a supply circuit.
