<p>The method involves sending compressed, purified and cooled air in an exchange line (11) to a column e.g. average pressure column (15) and low pressure column (17), of a column system. An air component enriched fluid is drawn from the column system. The fluid e.g. nitrogen, drawn from the column e.g. average pressure column, is compressed in a cold compressor (51). The compressed fluid is cooled in the line for forming a cold fluid. The cold fluid is condensed in a condenser e.g. shell and intermediate condensers (19, 23) of the low pressure column of the system. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for separating air by cryogenic distillation.</p> |
