PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image transmission from being delayed and stopped while reducing a transmission load.SOLUTION: In an image transmission system comprising a plurality of cameras and a coaxial cable for transmitting image signals from the plurality of cameras, the cameras include an imaging part for imaging a subject to acquire an image signal, an encoding part for compressively encoding the image signal by intraframe compression and interframe compression to generate an encoded signal, and a signal transmitting part for transmitting the encoded signal to the coaxial cable, and transmit the encoded signal obtained by the interframe compression to the coaxial cable when any of the other cameras transmits the encoded signal obtained by the intraframe compression to the coaxial cable. This technology is applicable to a monitoring camera system. |
