PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for joining clay pipes, having excellent workability and capable of automatizing clay pipe laying work and flexibly coping with also clay pipes having various outer diameter sizes.SOLUTION: A cylindrical socket 1 for joining clay pipes is used to joining clay pipes 5 used for subdrainage together. The socket 1 has: an engagement holding part 2 which has a small-diameter inner peripheral surface 21, and into which one end of one clay pipe 5 is engaged and held; and a loosely engaging junction 3 which has a large-diameter inner peripheral surface 31 having an inner diameter larger than that of the small-diameter inner peripheral surface 21, and into which one end of the other clay pipe 5 is joined in a loosely engaging state. |
