When the occurrence of the instantaneous interruption and the reactivation is actually determined, the ECM 7 terminates the operation of the engine 1. On the other hand, if the occurrence of the instantaneous interruption and the reactivation is not determined, the ECM 7 detects, using a maximum value detection unit 7b, a maximum value of pressure in the intake pipe detected by a pressure sensor 6 within a predetermined range of a crank angle after activation, stores the maximum value in a memory for use as atmospheric pressure, and uses it for the subsequent control of fuel injection by an injector 4.
