PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe inspection device that is used to detect presence of thinning in a pipe, requires no heating from the outside of the pipe and is hardly affected by a surface condition of the pipe.SOLUTION: A pipe inspection device 1 is used to inspect a pipe P in which a fluid with higher temperature than air temperature flows and at least one of the temperature and a flow rate changes temporally. This pipe inspection device 1 comprises: an infrared camera 2 that measures temperature T of a pipe surface PS at prescribed time intervals &Dgr;t and forms a temperature image 21 with a value of the measured temperature for each pixel; and a processing part 3 that processes the temperature image 21 measured by the infrared camera 21. The processing part detects that the pipe P is being heated, on the basis of the temperature image 21, and calculates a variation rate distribution of absolute temperature of the pipe surface PS. Therefore, the device can detect presence of thinning that causes fast heat conduction from the pipe inside to the pipe surface PS. |
