PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a nozzle face of a discharge head from being contaminated by ink mist to be caused by ink discharge, and prevent a continuous fault in an inkjet image recording device.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: discharge heads 51 and 52 for discharging UV ink to a sheet S supported by a platen drum 30 by an inkjet system to record an image; UV lamps 61, 62, and 63 irradiating the ink impacted on the sheet S with ultraviolet light; a mist collection device 73 including a suction container 65 sucking mist of the ink floating in the space between each of the discharge heads 51 and 52 and the platen drum 30; a mist density detection means (discharge quantity counter) predicting the density of the mist of the ink; and a control section for suspending image recording and controlling the mist collection device 73 to operate in a strong suction mode when the mist density decision means decides that the discharge characteristics of the discharge heads 51 and 52 are likely to be adversely affected. |
