PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for toner that has excellent low-temperature fixability and storage stability, and good charge stability in high-temperature and high-humidity; and a toner for electrophotography containing a binder resin.SOLUTION: Provided is a binder resin for toner that contains an amorphous polyester having a furan ring obtained through condensation polymerization of a raw material monomer including at least a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component. The raw material monomer contains one or more selected from a carboxylic acid represented by the formula (Ia), wherein Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and an alcohol obtained by replacing the carboxylic acid in the formula (Ia) with a hydroxymethyl group; and one or more selected from a carboxylic acid compound having a furan ring other than a carboxylic acid represented by the formula (Ia), and an alcohol having a furan ring other than alcohol. Also provided is a toner for electrophotography containing the binder resin. |
