PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which allows for high speed data transfer while suppressing deterioration of the image quality.SOLUTION: Compressed image data is sectioned into a plurality of related regions each including one or more pixel block. When the pixel block is compression encoded without using the information of other related regions between a plurality of related regions, the compressed partial image data containing all related regions including at least a part of the output range, i.e., the compressed partial image data constituted of some of the plurality of related regions, is extracted from the compressed image data. The compressed partial image data thus extracted, and the output range information representing the output range in an image, which is represented by the compressed partial image data, are transmitted to an image output device. |
