PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a sharp and natural image.SOLUTION: An image processing device according to an embodiment comprises: a feature quantity calculation unit which calculates a feature quantity representing a change in a pixel value in a first range from an input image and a complexity of a change in a pixel value in a second range of the input image; a generation unit which calculates a weight on the basis of a probability distribution representing a distribution of relative values of a feature quantity of a learning image including a high frequency component with respect to the feature quantity of the learning image and the feature quantity and complexity calculated by the feature quantity calculation unit, and generates a high frequency component for the input image by weighting a prescribed image pattern on the basis of the calculated weight; and an addition unit which adds the high frequency component to the input image.
