PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a computer program, capable of, even if a part of a shape included in an inputted image lies at a position largely deviating from an original position, accurately recognizing and estimating the shape.SOLUTION: By masking a region largely deviating from an original position, in a shape included in an inputted image, for performing projection onto basis space, a phenomenon in which the shape deviates due to the influence of a covering object, lighting or a shadow is eliminated, in order to accurately recognize and estimate the shape. A region poor in features, in the shape included in the inputted image, is also masked for performing projection onto the basis space, so as to accurately recognize and estimate the shape for such a region. |
