PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for diagnosing a relay contact, configured to diagnose a relay contact state using a motor controller itself of an electric vehicle.SOLUTION: A method includes: measuring a first voltage input to an inverter via a high-voltage battery (S602); comparing the measured first voltage with a second voltage output through the high-voltage battery (S603); identifying a detection time point of the first voltage when the first voltage is equal to or greater than the second voltage (S605); and determining whether or not a high-voltage relay, which switches on and off an output voltage of the high-voltage battery, has abnormality based on the identified detection time point. |
