PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method that can enhance color space conversion precision using a three-dimensional lookup table of image data having a color space of a wide dynamic range, and densify lattice points in the neighborhood of gray without increasing the number of lattice points of 3DLUT.SOLUTION: An image processing method successively subjects input image data to input conversion to an input color space and output conversion to an output color space to convert the input image data to output image data. After the input conversion, conversion image data are obtained by performing conversion processing of converting saturation or chromaticity of the input image data or saturation or chromaticity of the input color space so as to reduce the difference between the saturation or chromaticity of the input image data and the saturation or chromaticity of the input color space to effectively use the space of saturation or chromaticity in the input color space, and the conversion image data are converted to the output image data by using a three-dimensional lookup table containing inverse conversion processing of returning the saturation or chromaticity of the conversion image data to the saturation or chromaticity of the input image data during the output conversion.
