PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hose cutting device and a hose cutting method capable of easily cutting and effectively preventing the degradation in the aspect of the cut surface even with respect to a hose in which a reinforcement layer having a spiral structure is internally embedded.SOLUTION: The hose cutting device comprises: a hose supporting unit that supports a hose; a disk-shaped cutter 5 having a blade portion 5a formed at the periphery and being rotatably driven; and relative displacement means for separation and approach displacing the hose supporting unit and the cutter 5, the hose cutting device being provided to cut a hose including an elastic layer made of elastic material and a reinforcement layer configured by one or more wires, where the blade portion 5a of the cutter 5 includes a plurality of slits 7, each opened to an outer circumferential edge E of the cutter 5 and extended toward an inner circumference, and each of the slits 7 is inclined toward a forward side of a rotation direction X of the cutter 5 at an inner circumferential portion than an outer circumferential portion of the slit 7 with respect to a radial direction of the cutter 5, the inclination angle being within a range of between 30° and 80°. |
